The Weakest Link presenter Anne Robinson admitted she "loathes" Oprah Winfrey after her bombshell interview with Harry and Meghan.

Jimmy Kimmel defends Meghan Markle's Oprah interview
Anne Robinson has slammed “cheap” Oprah Winfrey and admitted she “loathes” the chat show host.
The Weakest Link presenter was invited to appear on Oprah’s show “at the height of its popularity” along with her daughter Emma for a mother-and-daughter special episode back in 2005.
She’d just written her book Memoirs of an Unfit Mother, revealing she lost custody of her daughter when she was just two years old – during Anne’s struggle with alcoholism and a painful divorce.
The BBC star teamed up with Emma for the documentary Travels with My Unfit Mother, where they renewed their bond in a “cathartic” experience – and headed on Oprah to promote the show.
But now Anne has recalled the truth behind the hit US show in her latest column for The Oldie Annual 2025. She wrote: “Arriving at the studio was worrying. A company, owned by a woman whose fortune and popularity had been made off the back of it, was a depressingly cheapskate operation.

“No dressing rooms or make-up artists available for guests. Only a small box of lipsticks and powder in the corner of a dingy green room.”
Anne recalled being “herded” about by producers, who were busy trying to coral another mother and daughter duo into staying on the show when they became engaged in a screaming match – something Anne branded “disturbing”.
Afterwards, she recalled being “bundled out” of the studio and into a taxi – which they were forced to share with the arguing mother and daughter.

“Because of the budget, we’d have to share a taxi with the same mother and daughter to be dropped at our hotel. We did so huddled in a corner, while the pair, now openly weeping, exchanged body blows.”
Anne now wants to “warn off” Oprah fans, writing in her column: “Personally, I loathe Oprah.”
