In a move set to redefine desktop computing, Apple has unveiled its latest iMac featuring the M4 chip—a significant upgrade that combines power and smarts in an ultra-thin design. The new Apple iMac with M4 chip not only boosts performance but also introduces Apple Intelligence, a personal intelligence system aimed at transforming how users work, communicate, and express themselves—all while keeping privacy front and centre.
The M4 chip brings a noticeable leap in capabilities. According to Apple, the new iMac is up to 1.7 times faster for daily tasks and up to 2.1 times quicker for demanding workflows like photo editing and gaming compared to its M1 predecessor. But the real game-changer might be the integration of Apple Intelligence—a suite of features designed to make your computing experience more intuitive and personalized.

Apple Intelligence: A New Era of Personal Computing
Apple Intelligence introduces features like systemwide Writing Tools for refining text and a redesigned Siri that can handle both spoken and typed requests. It’s also set to support ChatGPT integration in December, allowing users to tap into OpenAI’s expertise directly from Siri and Writing Tools without the need for separate accounts. Privacy remains a priority, with on-device processing and private cloud computing ensuring user data stays protected.

On the connectivity front, all four USB-C ports now support Thunderbolt 4 connectivity, facilitating faster data transfers and the ability to connect up to two 6K external displays. The iMac also supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, ensuring it stays connected with the latest wireless standards.
Environmental Considerations
Apple continues its commitment to the environment with the new iMac. The device incorporates 100% recycled aluminium in its stand and recycled gold, tin, and copper in various components. The packaging is entirely fibre-based, moving Apple closer to its goal of eliminating plastic packaging by 2025.
