If you’re a fan of K-pop, then you’re probably no stranger to dating rumors between idols with little to no evidence whatsoever. While some theories seem to come out of thin air, others (sometimes and very rarely) have some weight to them. Some fans may think it may be the latter when it comes to whatever is happening between TXT’s Yeonjun and Le Sserafim’s Yunjin. Let us explain:
It all began in January 2023, after internet users found “evidence” of the pair dating, which was allegedly taken from Yunjin’s personal Spotify account. The account, which was titled her name, “Huh Yunjin,” included multiple love songs that she had previously recommended to fans in the past.
What sparked the dating rumors, however, was a drawing that was used as the playlist’s cover picture, which included a girl and boy that looked pretty similarly to Yunjin and Yeonjun, wearing outfits and hair colors they’ve both sported in the past. The sketch also resembled Yunjin’s own drawings that she’s included in multiple of her music videos for her self-produced songs like “I ≠ DOLL” and “love you twice.”
Both K-pop stars work under the same music label, HYBE Entertainment, who have never publicly confirmed or denied the dating rumors.
Most fans of both TXT and Le Sserafim are pretty skeptical over the rumors, believing it to be another instance of fan shipping.
One Twitter user wrote, “One thing that’s REALLY [unbelievable] about the Yunjin/Yeonjun dating scandal is the fact that the playlist was public. Like if that playlist really were to exist, there’s a high chance that Yunjin would’ve made it private no matter how sure she was that her [account] was known to a few.”
However, fast forward to November 2024, fans seemingly think they found more evidence to support the romance rumors, this time, revolving around a post Yunjin made on Yeonjun’s birthday from September 13, 2024. The post, which included several photos from Le Sserafim’s appearance at the 2024 Video Music Awards, was captioned “Over the 🌙.”
While this didn’t immediately catch any buzz at the time, after TXT released their song “Over the Moon” in November, fans thought Yunjin may have been referencing the group’s comeback. One popular TikTok posted screenshots of the post, and wrote: “Yunjin getting early gf access and teasing yeonjun’s comebacks before they’re released + posting on his birthday <3”
Fans in the comments also thought the evidence was pretty convincing, one fan writing, “Hold on… y’all are convincing me,” while another posted: “The over the 🌙 spoiler on Yeonjun’s bday and his ideal type said it all,” referencing Yeonjun’s recent Wired interview where he described his ideal type as someone “wise” and “someone I admire and respect.”
