An R-rated comedy, boasting a near-perfect 91% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and hailed as an instant classic, is now available for home streaming.

My Old Ass, which hit the big screen this September, follows the story of Elliott Labrant, who, while celebrating her 18th birthday, takes psychedelic drugs and embarks on a startling journey that brings her face-to-face with her future 39-year-old self. The duo then devise a method to maintain contact after the effects of the drugs subside, providing the teenager with endless wisdom from her older self.

The film features Parks and Recreation star Aubrey Plaza and up-and-coming actress Maisy Stella in the lead role of Elliott. This marks Stella's first major film role, for which she has garnered widespread praise.

Behind the scenes, My Old Ass boasts a stellar crew. Director Megan Park is recognised for her part in the teen drama The Secret Life of the American Teenager and appearances on popular TV shows such as Young Sheldon and Jane the Virgin. Meanwhile Barbie Star Margot Robbie and her spouse Tom Ackerley served as producers for the film, alongside Josey McNamara and Steven Rales, reports the Mirror.

Just over a month after its theatrical release, the film is now available for viewing on Amazon Prime Video.

Despite featuring a well-known comedic actor, the fantasy film addresses profound themes such as grief, regret, and the challenges of growing up. Cinema-goers who have seen the film have been sharing their emotional responses on Reddit.
