Australian brand RM Williams expanding in UK

Australian footwear and clothing brand RM Williams has further expanded in the UK, with a store in Marlow, Buckinghamshire. The brand will also be stocked in Harrods, Selfridges and Liberty.

Founded in 1932 by Reginald Murray Williams, the brand is well-known in Australia and New Zealand. RM Williams boots are renowned for their signature one-piece leather construction, which enhances durability and creates a seamless look, said the brand.

The 1,700sq ft Marlow store, at 46 High Street, opened on 10 October and is the brand’s first to open outside Australia since 2017. A second new store will launch in Cambridge in December.

RM Williams CEO Paul Grosmann, said: “The UK has been part of the RM Williams story for many decades and we’re thrilled that our next chapter of UK investment is spearheaded by the impressive new Marlow opening.”

“Marlow’s heritage and character makes the town an ideal setting for introducing the brand’s handcrafted products to a community which appreciates quality authenticity,” he added.

In support of its UK expansion strategy RM Williams also recently bolstered its UK team with the recruitment of UK general manager Karl Wederell, who joins from luxury apothecary brand Aesop.

RM Williams has had a presence in the UK for more than two decades with its first international store opening in Knightsbridge in 1989. The brand currently operates two London stores in New Bond Street, Mayfair, and Berwick Street, Soho, and sells through 90 wholesale partners nationwide.
