The BBC journalist unveiled that a doctor was shocked by her admission

Fiona Bruce opened up about a surprising admission that left her doctor in disbelief. In a frank interview with Woman and Home, the BBC Antiques Roadshow star looked back on the awkward conversation that took place during a routine check-up.

Remarkably, 58-year-old confessed that she hadn't done any exercise after the birth of her son Sam, who is now 23. "I never did any exercise until I went to see a GP before or just after I had Sam," Fiona shared.

When quizzed about her activity level, Fiona replied: "None." The doctor, taken aback by her response, asked: "Literally none?" Fiona remembered the moment, saying: "I said 'no' and I was mortified because she was so appalled."

Since that time, Fiona has embraced exercise and now views it as a crucial part of her daily routine. She also highlighted its benefits for mental health, adding that it's especially important when dealing with stresses at work.

According to the Express, she added: "To me, exercise isn’t about living longer but it gives me energy, and I don't know what I'd be like without it."

In a separate interview with The Telegraph in 2015, Fiona shone a light on the challenges she faced balancing her demanding career with motherhood. She disclosed that Antiques Roadshow was the first job she took following the birth of her children, Sam and Mia Rose, which required her to be away from them for extended periods.

"Antiques Roadshow was the first job I had taken since my children were born that took me away from them consistently over a period of time. That was a big adjustment for all of us," she said.
