Pete Wicks has been dealt a devastating blow just hours before the Strictly Come Dancing live show, as he and dance partner Jowita Przystal are at risk of being eliminated from the competition this weekend, according to the latest bookmakers' predictions.
Betway spokesperson Mike Reading said: "Following the glitz and glamour of Blackpool and Wynne Edwards' elimination, the Strictly contestants are back in the ballroom to face another challenging week.
"This weekend, the stars will have to perform their usual routines and take part in a Samba-thon in the hopes of getting through to one of everyone's favourite - Musicals Week. Reality star Pete Wicks is the 5/6 favourite to leave the dance floor this weekend, despite being saved from the dance-off twice this series. Another dance-off survivor, Montell Douglas, isn't far behind and is priced up at 3/1 to Samba her way out."
Speaking about who could win, he added: "Meanwhile, Chris McCausland continues to soar ahead as the favourite to get through to next week after performing a seamless American Smooth at the famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom, scoring a huge 37 out of 40 from the judges."
On Saturday night, Pete donned a tight pair of pink PVC trousers while performing the cha-cha-cha to Right Said Fred's "I'm Too Sexy.", reports Wales Online.
However, the pair's performance didn't impress the judges, as they received a score of 27 points. Despite not being the best dancer, Pete has charmed the audience and secured his place in week 10 of the competition.
After the public vote, he expressed his gratitude on Instagram, acknowledging his dancing skills are lacking but emphasizing his commitment to enjoying the experience.
"Humbled. Overwhelmed. Grateful," his Instagram post read. "I'm well aware I'm not a good dancer, but I am trying. Every week @jowitaprzystal and I just want to make the most of what we can. We take it day by day, week by week. I know VERY little about dancing but what I have learnt is that it's about letting go and throwing yourself at it no matter what level of skill/talent you may or may not have."
In the latest episode, Wynne Evans and his dance partner Katya Jones faced Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe in the dreaded dance-off. Despite a spirited performance, the judges saved Montell, who delivered a lively salsa to Thelma Houston's 'Don't Leave Me This Way'.
Reflecting on his journey with Tess Daly, Wynne, paired with Katya, shared: "It's been wonderful, I've got to say. "I feel like it's what Strictly is all about. "If I can come and do Strictly and last until week nine, then anybody can get out there and dance and have a brilliant time. Strictly is such a brilliant family, such a precious family, that I want everybody here in this room and at home to look after it for the generations to come because it is a wonderful, wonderful thing."
Katya gushed: "To be honest with you, the smile hasn't left my face since the first day of our training, since the day we got partnered up. You (Wynne) have made this experience so joyous and so full of laughter for me. I'm sure everybody was jealous because you're the kind of guy that everybody wants in their life."
Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday at 7.05pm on BBC One.
