A Strictly Come Dancing celebrity has called for a change to be made to the much-loved dance programme's format.
The BBC dance contest was back on screens with its results show on Sunday, November 10, and hosts Tess Daly along with Claudia Winkleman disclosed who would return next week.
Among those advancing to the following stage were EastEnders' Jamie Borthwick and his professional dance partner Michelle Tsiakkas, after they performed an evocative Argentine Tango to Arctic Monkey's Do I Wanna Know? on Saturday night.
Following the announcement that Wynne Evans paired with Katya Jones had landed in the dreaded dance-off, Claudia caught up with those who had been voted through by the public.
However, when she reached Jamie, the conversation took a turn as he expressed his opinion on one aspect of the competition, reports the Mirror.
Initiating the chat, Claudia said: "Jamie, I know you are incredibly close to Wynne so for you, is this bittersweet?" Jamie responded: "Yeah it is a bit. You know, it's such a strong competition and it would have been a shock anyone being in that dance-off tonight."
Then he added his controversial wish: "I wish we could all go to Blackpool, it's so horrible that someone's got to go. I think we should just scrap that rule."
Comedian Chris McCausland also joined in, jesting: "It's a terrible show isn't it " prompting laughter from fellow stars. Jamie concurred: "It is! It ruins the show!" only for Claudia to maintain professionalism, albeit blankly: "I'll tell the boss."
Last night's episode of Strictly Come Dancing was an emotional rollercoaster, with the celebrities giving it their all ahead of the highly anticipated Blackpool Ballroom Tower episode next week.
Former Towie star Pete Wicks and his partner Jowita Przystal took to the dance floor to perform a contemporary-style routine to Nicotine Dolls' The Best for their Couple's Choice. In a heart-wrenching moment, Pete revealed that he was dedicating the dance to his late grandmother, and was visibly overcome with emotion when the music ended.
Their powerful performance earned them an impressive 36 points. However, the most memorable moment of the night came courtesy of blind comedian Chris McCausland and his partner Dianne Buswell.
Their Couple's Choice routine to John Lennon's Instant Karma! (We All Shine On) featured a poignant blackout moment, giving the audience a glimpse into what it's like for Chris to dance each week.
The judges were clearly moved, with Shirley Ballas struggling to hold back tears as she praised Chris for wearing his "heart on your sleeve". Craig Revel Horwood described the moment as "poignant", and the couple scored 33 points.
