BBC Strictly Come Dancing tour in reschedule shock due to Storm Eowyn

Scottish fans of Strictly Come Dancing faced a letdown as the much-anticipated tour's opening date in Glasgow was postponed.

While the beloved BBC dance contest takes its charm on a nationwide tour, show officials had to fire out an urgent update due to the red weather warnings. Scotland is bracing for the brunt of Storm Eowyn and is poised to experience winds reaching 100mph.

With a grim weather warning activated, expecting the worst conditions between 10am and 5pm on Friday, forecasters have sounded alarms about life-threatening gusts. Consequently, the city's train and bus services have been suspended.

Given the daunting weather forecasts, the Strictly crew made the tough call to delay Glasgow's inaugural OVO Hydro performance.

According to the show producers: "Due to the red weather warning in place tomorrow, the Friday evening performance of Strictly Come Dancing The Live Tour will be rescheduled to Sunday evening, 26 January."

The timings, too, have been adjusted, with doors opening at 17.30 and showtime set for 18.30. The Mirror reports that those with tickets needn't worry; their existing passes remain valid for the rescheduled event.

However, those who can't make it may seek refunds by contacting their original sales point. Organisers extended their apologies for any trouble caused.

Though some followers were prepared for the change, there were murmurings about the announcement's timing. Social media responses to the news included gripes about tardiness with remarks like: "Could have made this decision five hours ago," while another expressed relief: "Finally."

The current lineup of the tour features an array of talented stars, including Sarah Hadland, Tasha Ghouri, JB Gill, Wynne Evans, and Jamie Borthwick.

In a recent appearance on The One Show, Wynne Evans poked fun at judge Craig Revel Horwood, sharing some lighthearted backstage banter from the tour.

Wynne quipped: "It's fun, you know, it's just real fun, it's absolute entertainment. Craig [who is a judge] is as rude as ever. He called me right yesterday, and he said that I was stompy and flat-footed. Right?"

He chuckled and continued, "So I said: 'Have you heard your album, mate? That's stompy and flat if ever I've heard it!' So yeah, there's quite a lot of banter, and he gave me a two yesterday, so I was absolutely gutted just because I was a bit rude about his album!".
