Since Jennifer Lopez's sister, Lynda Lopez, made a surprising visit to Ben Affleck's daughter, Violet, on the Yale University campus, her parents have been a bit confused about why she maintains such a close relationship with her.

Apparently, Violet's parents were not aware of the meeting with Lynda, though it's no secret that the two have a very good relationship. Violet developed a strong bond with her former step-mom, J-Lo, and has also remained close to her family.

A surprising love

An insider told 'Daily Mail', "Violet has a strong attachment to J-Lo and her family. It's a bit confusing to Ben and Jen [Garner], as they don't quite understand why Violet is so intent on staying close to them."

The insider also revealed that Violet "looks up to Jennifer" and that they are working to maintain a close relationship.

While Violet's parents, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, were initially unaware of these meetings, they respect her autonomy now that she's 18 and can choose whom to spend time with. However, it still comes as a surprise to them.

Tough times to show love

The fact that J-Lo and Affleck's marriage did not end in a good way, has put both Violet and Lynda in a difficult position, but they've always made it clear that this situation wouldn't affect their bond and they continue to act on that promise.
