Hollywood stars channeled iconic looks for this year’s Halloween.
Whether recreating their own notable roles like Jennifer Garner dressing as her 13 Going on 30 character, paying homage to other stars like Halle Bailey as Halle Berry and Paris Hilton as Uma Thurman, or even poking fun at pop culture phenomena like the Ozempic rend, stars this year offered a variety of creative and fun looks.
Halloween fanatic Janelle Monáe, who plans out costumes at least two years in advance, unveiled another jaw-dropping transformation as E.T. from Steven Spielberg’s 1982 film.
In her Hollywood Reporter cover story, the Halloween obsessed star said of dressing up, “What I want people to see and to remember about me is that I wasn’t afraid to look silly. I wasn’t afraid to investigate my fears and turn it into a costume. I’m not afraid to transform.”
Below, THR offers a roundup of this year’s costumes donned by a myriad of stars including Selena Gomez, Anne Hathaway and more.
Jennifer Garner
The actress recreated a scene from her 2004 rom-com, 13 Going on 30, even wearing the iconic dress and necklace her character wore to her work party.
Halle Bailey
The Little Mermaid star paid tribute to Halle Berry by wearing an orange bikini she famously wore while portraying Jinx from the 2002 James Bond film, Die Another Day.
Chlöe Bailey
While her sister Halle Bailey channeled Halle Berry for her Halloween costume, Chlöe turned to sultry Who Framed Roger Rabbit character Jessica Rabbit for this year’s look. Donning a red wig, purple gloves and bedazzled red dress, Bailey captioned her photo, “i present to you… Jessica Rabbit.”
Paris Hilton
“Serving Mia Wallace realness,” Paris Hilton wrote on her Instagram alongside a series of photos in which the mogul dresses as Uma Thurman’s Pulp Fiction character. Hilton also recreated the Pulp Fiction movie poster.
Selena Gomez
Alongside boyfriend Benny Blanco, Selena Gomez channeled Alice in Wonderland with her Halloween costume. Meanwhile Blanco dressed as the Mad Hatter.

“Red or blue pill,” Sophie Turner asked in her Instagram post in which she shared her Halloween costume inspired by The Matrix.
Lizzo
Lizzo poked fun at the Ozempic craze by dressing as a weight-loss drug for a mock ad. “Need self love? Try Lizzo! Lose guilt. Gain confidence,” the mock ad said. The singer also noted the side effects which include, “A smile on your face and a pep in your step.”
Janelle Monáe
Janelle Monáe helped E.T. “come back home” with her costume this year as she paid homage to Steven Spielberg’s 1982 film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial by dressing as the iconic character. “Welcome back E.T.,” Monáe said. “Thank you Google Maps.”
“Halloween is such a happy space for me,” she told THR. “It has been since I was a kid. It opens a larger conversation of how do we become agents of joy? How do we become agents of happy? How do we become agents of imaginations? I’m just doing what I want to see more of. Bringing Halloween experiences and creative experiences is heart work, not hard work. I do this because my heart needs it.”
