Snow bunnies can channel their inner 007 or Bond girl with Bogner’s latest drop for winter — a nod to Goldfinger’s iconic ski scenes filmed by Willy Bogner Jr., the son of the luxury label’s husband-and-wife founders.
The fashionable athleticwear brand has debuted a James Bond-inspired ski range ($290 to $2,300) of high-performance apparel, footwear, accessories and gear for speeding down the slopes in style. The Bogner x 007 collection includes women’s and men’s down ski jackets, ski suits and pants, first layers, bags, boots and more in black and red.
Standouts include a bold rouge ski suit inspired by the silhouette worn by Lynn-Holly Johnson’s Bond girl, Bibi Dahl, in 1981’s For Your Eyes Only; all-black skis and ski poles; and backpacks and cross-body bags with puffer-inspired detailing. There are also jackets, pants and patent leather boots in the same rouge hue, which the brand says also pays homage to the iconic red one-shoulder dress worn by Eunice Grayson as Sylvia Trench in Dr. No. (The late British actress told BBC in 2012 that the original brown and gold version of the gown was nearly a “wardrobe disaster.”)
Pieces are finished with the iconic British spy’s logo and all-over Goldfinger prints, including goggles, helmets and gloves.
Per the brand, materials feature four-way stretch for “unparalleled freedom of movement while being waterproof and breathable.” The Bond5 and Bond3 first layers feature a stand-up collar in a breathable and waterproof three-layer nylon fabric. Quilted outerwear is filled with goose down and feathers and comes in rip stock material with a lacquered finish, while zippers are finished with 007 pull tabs and logo lining.
Based in Germany, the luxury sports lifestyle brand was co-founded in 1932 by Olympic skiier Willy Bogner Sr. and his wife, Maria Bogner. Their son, Willy Bogner Jr., served as the director and cameraman for the stunt scenes in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, The Spy Who Loved Me, On a Deadly Mission and In the Face of Death.
Bogner’s fall 2024 collection marks its second collaboration with 007; the first was released in 2022. The label has also had starring roles in the James Bond films: Roger Moore (along with his enemies) sported Bogner in 1977’s The Spy Who Loved Me, while George Lazenby sported a blue jacket with black pants and gloves by Bogner in the 1981 movie, notes Bond Lifestyle.
The James Bond film series spans 25 titles, which are available to stream online at Prime Video and other video-on-demand platforms.
