Denise Richards ruptured both of her breast implants while competing on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum detailed her injury during an appearance on Jeff Lewis Live.
How Denise’s implants ruptured:
“I jumped off a bridge and that’s when I ruptured my implants — off of that thing.” The Wild Things actress went on to say that the harness she wore for the jump caused both of the implants to rupture.
“I still have to get them redone. I was supposed to a month ago but couldn’t because we were filming. So, no. I still have to get them redone.”
Denise has to pay to fix her ruptured implants:
Denise explained that she’s going to have to pay for the procedure out of pocket. The New York Post reported “insurance won’t cover the repair.”
“I have to pay,” she said. “I think we pretty much signed our life away doing that show. It’s dangerous.”
Denise’s daughters worried about their mom competing:
Sami, 20, Lola, 19, and Eloise, 13 were “very upset” when they found out she was competing on Special Forces.
The former RHOBH star told People last December, “They did not want me to do it. They were afraid I was going to get hurt or get killed. They were actually really angry.”
“It was the first time of all the times I’ve done different projects or traveled they were very upset with me.”
Denise didn’t quit:
Despite the girls’ concern and that fact that Denise, by her own description, is “not athletic at all,” she didn’t bow out.
“I thought, ‘This is the most challenging thing I’ll ever do, and why not do it?’” Denise “was terrified, but once I made the commitment to do it, I was there.”
“I was so intimidated by everyone.” She continued, “I didn’t know who was going to be there, but I did hear there were some athletes, and I can’t compete with that.
“But that’s the greatest thing too, is it’s not about competing against anybody but myself, and that’s why they strip us down raw, physically and mentally and emotionally and all of that.”
Season 3 of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test premieres on Wednesday, January 8th on Fox.
