Brandi Glanville is seeking help from another reality TV legend for her facial disfigurement. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum turned to Botched star Dr. Terry Dubrow as she sought out medical advice to treat her abnormal facial swelling, which she feared was caused by “parasites.”
“Yes guys, @DrDubrow took 4 tiny biopsy’s [sic] from my face so we can continue to get better,” Brandi, 52, wrote via X on Wednesday, January 29. “Ez pz no pain I was in and out on 30 minutes now we wait.”
Brandi accepted the celebrity doctor’s public offer to treat her condition in December 2024, as Dr. Dubrow, 66, disagreed with her initial belief that parasites were the cause.
“I saw one of her interviews and I’ve seen the picture of her, the one where she is swollen, the one where she is really deflated with the irregular skin,” the medical professional told TMZ at the time. “Here’s the thing, here’s what Brandi really needs to focus on… and it’s not her fault, it’s her doctor’s fault. Brandi needs a diagnosis.”
He believed her facial issues weren’t caused by a parasite or something she ate but rather by “an infectious process or a foreign body reaction to something she had injected,” leading to a bacterial infection.
“There are these two kinds of microorganisms, one’s called a Microbacterium and the other is called a fungus, and they can be very difficult to treat and could take six to 12 months of antibiotics to treat,” he continued. “Every minute the microorganism is allowed to stay in her skin and do potential damage she could suffer worse for it. It could be more difficult to treat and she could form more scars and more nodules.”
Brandi later confirmed she was having all her facial fillers dissolved after she got in contact with Dr. Dubrow.
“I appreciate all the help I can get. We have been in touch and plan to talk thank you for all the love,” she wrote via X on December 13, 2024. “All fillers that were in my face have been dissolved. I have seen all the best doctors at Cedar Sinai and all the doctors they referred me to.”
The Bravo celebrity previously opened up about spending more than $70,000 in temporary solutions to attempts to fix the issue.
“Honestly, I have so many doctors and I’ve had so many tests … I did lab work for $10,000,” she said in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight. “I ran every test under the sun.… They’re like, ‘It could be a parasite.’”
Although she doesn’t know the origin of her condition yet, Brandi initially believed she contracted the ailment while she was in Morocco filming The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip.
“We had food sitting out for hours on end and some of it was meat. In Morocco,” she told Entertainment Tonight late last year, explaining her symptoms started popping up once she returned home. “Six months after I got back from Morocco, I started having this speaking thing and the swelling up thing, it started in July and we’re still here trying to figure it out.”
