Telly fans are devastated as the TV legend Chuck Woolery, famed for presenting Wheel of Fortune has died aged 83. Close pal and podcast co-star Dr Mark Young spoke of his final moments on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

Crafting a touching homage to his friend, he penned: "It is with a broken heart that I tell you that my dear brother @chuckwoolery has just passed away. Life will not be the same without him, RIP brother."

Dr Mark said to TMZ that whilst at Chuck's home in Texas, the star complained of feeling poorly and decided to sleep. But tragedy struck when Chuck returned, admitting he was struggling to catch a breath.

Despite a frantic call for help, it was too late for the TV icon, Dr Mark noted with sorrow. Before Chuck became a household name in telly-land, he was a singer and went on to dazzle audiences on top-rated shows such as Love Connection and Scrabble.

Not just a smooth talker on gameshows, Chuck took a crack at acting, landing parts in flicks like The Treasure of Jamaica Reef and small screen hit Love, American Style, reports the Mirror.

As Mark's tribute hit social media, waves of eulogies flooded in from all corners. One fan shared their heartache, saying: "I've watched your brother my entire life, in different shows. He always presented himself as a genuinely good man. I'm so very sorry for you, losing your brother. You'll see him again."
