Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia is addressing rumors about a possible falling-out with her close friend and podcast cohost, Grace O’Malley.
“I haven’t had TikTok in months. But apparently all anyone does on there is talk about my life,” Brianna wrote in an Instagram Story posted on Wednesday, October 30. “So here ya go, I’m not interested in sharing my personal relationships online anymore because the internet so badly wants to ruin them all.”
Brianna and Grace, longtime best friends since childhood, co-host the podcast PlanBri Uncut. Rumors of a rift began when Brianna didn’t publicly acknowledge Grace’s birthday earlier this month. Later, Grace posted a TikTok thanking the friends who celebrated with her—an event Brianna was absent from—fueling fan speculation about a falling-out.
The 25-year-old influencer addressed the rumors directly, saying, “Grace has been like a sister since I was 15 years old. I wished her a happy birthday privately. I’m sorry but I’m having a week from hell, and I’m tired of feeling the need to explain myself to people who don’t know me. Love ya guys, and that’s all there is to it.”
Brianna is currently dealing with her recent breakup with country singer Zach Bryan, who announced their split earlier this month.
The speculation about her friendship with Grace had started even before her breakup with Bryan. Fans noticed that Brianna and Grace, who often spent a lot of time together, seemed to be in different states frequently. The rumors intensified following the October 8 episode of their podcast, in which Grace recalled a difficult experience from her teenage years that she said “shaped [her] as a woman.”
In that episode, Grace shared that she’d be returning to Atlantic City as part of her comedy tour, saying, “I’m going back to Atlantic City.” Brianna responded, “Oh my God, the last time we went was when we were 16 … I hope it ends better.” Grace, appearing uncomfortable, replied, “It totally will,” adding, “Something bad happened last time I was there that shaped me as a woman.”
The conversation took a tense turn as Brianna continued to reference the past incident, even trying to give advice to younger listeners based on Grace’s “horrific” experience. Grace became visibly upset, interjecting to defend herself, saying, “It’s not my fault!” Brianna clarified, “No, I’m not saying it’s your fault,” adding that hanging out with older men had led to a terrifying situation for Grace. “I thought Grace died and was kidnapped and thank God she wasn’t, just other horrible things.”
Following the episode, fans criticized Brianna for appearing to “victim-blame” her friend, further fueling rumors of tension.
This isn’t the first time fans have speculated about a possible fallout. Back in June 2024, tensions arose after Brianna announced plans for her own solo podcast. Grace acknowledged a “little bit of a tiff” between them at the time, explaining, “Things have been changing between the both of us, and we weren’t fully communicating how we felt to each other.” However, they assured fans they had reconciled.
For now, Brianna seems to be taking a step back from addressing her personal relationships publicly.
