Britney Spears has plans for her next chapter — and it may involve a change of scenery.

On Tuesday, November 12, the "...Baby One More Time" hitmaker took to Instagram and in a since-deleted post, revealed she plans to move to Mexico, per screenshots shared by fans. Spears, 42, shared the news one day after People reported she had recently reunited with her 18-year-old son Jayden.

While the pop star didn't reveal the timing of her trip, she noted she enjoyed a two-week vacation to the country, the end of which she was dreading.

"My home is lovely but l'm a completely different person being away!!!" Britney wrote. "I cry every time I leave there and it's the funniest thing. It's such a tiny place but it was my first time staying for two weeks I actually nested and was not happy at all about leaving!!!"

Elsewhere in the post, she revealed that she spent much time hanging with a new woman who has been "running [her] security." While Spears has traveled to the country by herself before, she said that traveling with her new security assistant allowed for a new perspective, and that she won't be traveling alone again.

Spears' news came just one day after her reported reunion with 18-year-old son Jayden — whom she shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline — recently reunited at Spears' Los Angeles home. Their reunion occurred just over a year after Federline, 46, moved to Hawaii with Jayden and their other son, 19-year-old Sean.

Given that both bits of news broke around the same time, fans have expressed confusion over the matter — specifically the timing of events.

"What how did her son visit her if she's in Mexico," said one fan on X (formerly Twitter). "oh Britney nothing will ever make sense."

"I think what actually happened is Britney spent the first two weeks of October in Mexico, went back to LA to meet Jayden mid-October, and now she's flying back to Mexico again," said another fan.

Brtiney and Jayden's reported reunion comes after years of estrangement — though. According to TMZ, Federline was unaware that the alleged meet-up in Los Angeles took place.

"If there has been a reconciliation it's news to Kevin," said Federline's lawyer Mark Kaplan.

Spears — who divorced Federline in 2006 after two years of marriage — is expected to make her final court-ordered child support payment for Jayden on Friday, November 15.
