Britney Spears is strengthening her relationship with her youngest son after years of estrangement - according to multiple reports.
The 42-year-old chart-topping icon is the mother of sons Sean Preston, 19, and Jayden James, 18, who she shares with 46-year-old ex-husband Kevin Federline. In recent years, it has been reported that Britney has had a strained relationship with her sons - and they drifted apart following the end of her controversial conservatorship in November 2021.
New reports have suggested that Britney and Jayden James have been spending some quality time together after the Till The World Ends singer's son returned to California from Hawaii where he moved with his father. It has been reported that the mother-son duo have been spending time together at her home.
The reunion is said to have brought joy to Britney and suggested she could strengthen her bond with her boy. However, other reports have suggested Kevin has been oblivious to the reunion - with a lawyer issuing a statement, suggesting he is not best pleased about the news.

PageSix also reported about the reunion, with a source telling them: "[Britney and Jayden James] have been spending a lot of time together." And a further source told them: “Britney is thrilled to have her baby back. Everything is moving in the right direction.”
The updates come almost two years after Kevin sought permission to move his sons to Hawaii with him, his wife Victoria Prince, and their two children — Peyton, 8, and Jordan, 11. The family members jetted off for a new life on the American island in May 2023 - with a source telling People at the time: "Britney has always faithfully supported her children and wants them to be happy."
But TMZ is spinning a different take on events - with a lawyer speaking out creating a question mark over the happiness of Kevin to see his son reuniting with his mother. The dancer's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, told the outlet: "If there has been a reconciliation it’s news to Kevin." The outlet also stated: "Kevin speaks to Jayden frequently and hasn’t been told about any kind of reconciliation between the 18-year-old and his mom."
The Mirror has contacted a representative of Britney for comment. News reports in September this year uncovered details of the original child support agreement that existed between Britney and Kevin. It was reported that the singer agreed: "child support payments would cease on the 18th birthday of Jayden, the youngest son, or when he graduates high school, whichever is later." It was then reported that Jayden James is expected to graduate from the high school he attends in Hawaii in November this year after he turned 18 in September.
