Yay! Britney Spears has reunited with her son!
After years of estrangement, Britney’s 18-year-old son Jayden James Federline has been visiting his mother in Los Angeles. Whoa! What amazing news! According to a People source on Monday, the family members have been hanging out in the 42-year-old’s home, they shared:
“Spending time together has made her happy.”
We bet she’s overjoyed!

This is seemingly their first visit since Jayden and his older brother Sean Preston, 19, moved to Hawaii with their father Kevin Federline last year, something the pop star agreed to. The estranged family members are said to have broken the ice on Mother’s Day when the boys had a brief phone call with the singer. It’s been a slow process to rebuild a connection, but it seems to be working!
According to Page Six on Monday, the teenager has been “back in California” for an unspecified amount of time. It’s unclear if he’s staying with his mother, but “they have been spending a lot of time together,” per a second source.
The first source continued:
“Britney is thrilled to have her baby back. Everything is moving in the right direction.”
Aw! Love it!
Per sources, Sean is still living in Hawaii full-time. It’s unclear if he has made or will make similar strides to reconnect with his mother.
As Perezcious readers know, issues between the mother and her sons took the spotlight in 2022. At the time, Kevin posted a video of the musician arguing with her sons — seemingly as a way to make her seem like a bad parent. Jayden also opened up about his fractured relationship with his mom in an ITV interview, blaming it in part on her nude photos, saying:
“I 100 percent think this can be fixed. It’s just going to take a lot of time and effort. […] I just want her to get better mentally. When she gets better, I really want to see her again.”
He also claimed Britney didn’t give Sean “equal love” or “attention,” which made him “feel really bad.” Oof. When the boys moved to Hawaii in August 2023, they had reportedly not been on speaking terms with the Crossroads alum for over a year. So, this reunion is a big f**king deal!
We’re SO happy for the family that things are headed in this direction! Thoughts? Share them (below).
