It takes quite a bit for a person to be a likable Housewife on Bravo. Bronwyn Newport seems to fit the bill, as many fans say she’s one of the best newbies in recent memory. Now, the fashion-forward star is responding to people who think there are issues in her marriage to Todd Bradley, and she’s also opening up about her decision to share her daughter’s story on the show.

Fans of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City will know that Todd recently came under fire for the way he spoke to Bronwyn on their cast trip, as well as some of the ladies and their husbands. Many said their relationship seemed more father-daughter than romantic because of his stern nature.

Recently, Bronwyn spoke to Page Six about some of the fallout following his appearances on RHOSLC. She insisted that they are happy and are in a loving relationship.

According to Bronwyn, “Todd and I are super happy and stable and totally great, so I don’t know that I need to clarify [anything.]”

However, she added, “I guess I would say, I think in a really longterm, serious, stable relationship like we have … you show up [in] different ways [for] your partner.”

Bronwyn also spoke in the interview about being clear with her words and how the flashbacks from the show are usually on her side. She said, “I’m very clear, flashback or no flashback, I was there, I know what I said, I know who I said it to and what they said.”

She then said, “Bravo might wanna look into more Virgos because Virgos have their email receipts, they always have their text receipts, and they always have the brain receipts.”

Bronwyn also discussed her issues with Heather Gay, especially the ones shown in the midseason trailer. Specifically, she was asked about Heather gossiping about her.

She responded, “That’s a tricky thing I’ve learned about some of my friendships with these girls is when you are not getting along they really wanna not get along, yes. They really wanna know the tea and whatever and I’m happy to just say it myself.”

“I think you see that in the preview. There’s a lot of conversation about my marriage, a lot of speculation about its health, if it’s real, and all those kinds of things. I kind of was like, ‘If you want to get to know me, hear it from me,'” she added.

The RHOSLC star also added, “We’ve gone through something real and hard and stayed together, and I’m happy to share that.”

She then said she believes Heather wanted to embarrass her and make Todd look bad.

In a separate interview with PEOPLE, Bronwyn opened up about her decision to discuss the situation with her daughter and her grandparents on the show. She said, “I’m so proud of Gwen. I know there’s a lot of questions about if that was a planned thing or a surprise, and it was incredibly shocking to me that Lisa knew my daughter’s family. ”

She added, “I probably would not have gone on the show actually if I’d known that ahead of time. But there was this moment after we found out that as a family we talked about and said, ‘Do we want this to come up with the other ladies? Do we want this to come up later? Or is there a way to handle this?'”

Bronwyn then shared how she would have handled the situation if the cameras had not been present. “The way that we would handle this without the cameras here, [was] for Gwen to tell her story to Todd and I and us to be receptive to what she had to say. So we did let the cameras follow that,” she said.

She then said, “And I don’t think at the time that I thought I was doing this noble thing, I just thought I was doing the honest thing, which is this happened and cameras are rolling, so they get to capture it.”

The RHOSLC newbie also discussed the positive feedback she has received from viewers following the story airing.

According to her, “It became really beautiful for me to hear so many people say that they were the child in that story or the mom in that story. And I’ve learned a lot of tools hearing other people’s stories, that I could be a better mom to Gwen going forward from here. There were lots of messages I got to read to Gwen and tell her how much that resonated with other people.”

Bronwyn also discussed why this was so impactful for people watching from home. She said, “I think when you’re going through it, and it’s hard, it’s really great to have somebody else say, ‘This is how it will maybe will end for you,’ or ‘This is how it’s happened for me.'”

She added that despite her story being intertwined with her daughter’s, she’d never want to step on her toes by revealing too much about their family. She also said that she felt like she’d been carrying around a secret for a really long time before opening up on the show.

Fans can watch RHOSLC on Wednesday nights.
