It is said that although blood calls, the will prevails, and this applies to Brooklyn Beckham, who has moved away from the soccer fields, which is what his father David Beckham would have wanted, to dedicate himself to an activity that although not everyone in the clan is happy with, at least the former soccer player does not mind the idea.
It turns out that Brooklyn, the eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham, chose at the age of 25 to stop jumping between different activities and live for speed, or at least that's how he sold it to his parents that he is going to get into a Formula E single-seater, invited by the organization as part of a group of influencers who with their presence will seek to make the category more popular.
A new activity for Brooklyn Beckham
This is what Brooklyn told the BBC: "Like my father, I've always been obsessed with driving (...) It's getting more people to experience Formula E and the more people do, the more people will understand it. Formula One has been around a lot longer, the world is changing, so I think this category definitely has a chance to get closer to it".
Beckham is married to American actress Nicola Peltz - whom he has not told about his new 'venture' - and has basically been involved in activities that have nothing to do with sport, as he has been a model and influencer, photographer and even a cook. However, his father's name has earned him a good base of sponsors to lean on and this new opportunity is no exception.
Beckham will be part of a group of influencers
There will be 11 influencers competing against each other in Formula E's ambitious plan, and among them is former Argentine soccer player Sergio 'Kun' Ag?ero. They will all be paired with a team and a professional driver for six weeks of training, culminating in a race at a Miami circuit on March 5-6
However, Brooklyn knows that people are going to judge him again, so he is already planning his next steps regardless of what they say: "When this comes out, people are going to think I'm going to try to become an F1 driver, they'll think I'm going to change careers again. But people will understand and realise how mentally tough this sport is," he concluded.
