An emotional and uplifting scene unfolded in front of CAA‘s Century City headquarters on Monday as power agent and co-chairman Kevin Huvane teamed with Project Angel Food to honor his late brother Chris Huvane.
The ceremony — attended by CAA insiders, Chris Huvane’s colleagues at Entertainment 360, Project Angel Food CEO Richard Ayoub and Huvane family members — saw the unveiling a new white van that will be used by the nonprofit to deliver meals to seriously ill individuals across Los Angeles County. Dedicated to Chris thanks to a $50,000 donation from Kevin, the van features Chris’s face and an inscription: “In loving memory of Chris Huvane. May this van carry his legacy on every journey. Love always goes the distance…”
Offered Kevin: “Project Angel Food truly captures the essence of compassion and community, creating a profound impact on the lives of many individuals and families throughout Los Angeles County. By delivering nutritious meals to those in need, they not only nourish bodies but also uplift spirits. It is an honor to support their mission in memory of my beloved brother, Chris Huvane, who was a guiding light for me and so many others.”
Chris, a beloved figure in Hollywood who managed the careers of stars like Margot Robbie, Chadwick Boseman, Julianne Moore, Zach Braff, Henry Winkler, Zoey Deutch and others, died by suicide at age 47 on Feb. 6, 2022. The loss sent shockwaves through Hollywood. “A brilliant manager, consummate colleague and friend, a rock of our company and our culture, beloved by every single person who ever met him,” his company said in a statement at the time. “We are all better for having known Chris, and we commit to honoring his legacy every day forward.” His family had previously honored him with a special fundraiser in partnership with the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
For his part, Ayoub said, “There’s no better way to honor a loved one than to sponsor a van that delivers lifesaving meals to people with critical illness. As Chris Huvane’s van travels through 4,751 square miles of L.A. County delivering 107,000 meals and hope a year, clients will feel the incredible energy of the person who made it possible.”
