Natalie Quarry, known for her role as Rosalind Clifford in the latest series of Call the Midwife, is making waves on BBC One with the show's first-ever two-part festive special. The newly qualified midwife character, played by Quarry, is settling in nicely at Nonnatus House.

Quarry joined the cast in its 13th season as a fresh student midwife and confessed her affection for the show dates back to her teenage years. In a chat with Virgin Radio, she revealed: "I properly watched the show when I was a teenager."

"I feel like I was the biggest fan in the family, but they are really excited because it is something that we all used to watch together."

After leaving drama school, she reached out to the show via email expressing her interest to appear.

She further added: "When I was like 19. I was like 'Put me in an episode! ' So (episode one) is kind of a weird sort of full circle moment to me being big-headed and being like 'I'd be good in Call the Midwife'."

Reflecting on Call the Midwife being her most significant role so far, she shared with Radio Times: "When my agent called to tell me, I'd just been to an exercise class and I started sobbing."

"I'd been working in a shop and I had to tell them I was leaving, because I was filming a TV show in two weeks."
