Cam Newton‘s flair for the dramatics was on full display when the former NFL star pulled off a harrowing leap from a speedboat onto a helicopter. The clip was taken from the FOX series Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.
In a video shared on social media, Newton, a participant on Special Forces‘ third season, can be seen standing on a moving speedboat besides an instructor, as a helicopter hovers above the boat from a short distance away.
As an instuctor commands Newton to jump and grab onto the helicopter, the 35-year-old briefly hesitates before making the leap, which he pulls off successfully, much to the delight of his fellow castmates.
“Did you see that? He pressed himself up on a helicopter!” one crew member says, as Newton’s castmates look on in amazement. Clearly enthused and caught in the moment, Newton begins to verbally celebrate before being scolded by a Special Forces member on the helicopter for his unbridled outburst.
In additon to Cam Newton, the “recruits” on third season of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test include influencer Kayla Nicole, actress Kyla Pratt, former NFL wide receiver and Super Bowl champion Golden Tate, Olympic track and field athlete Marion Jones, and more.
According to the network, Newton and his fellow recruits were trained in Wales, the home of British Special Forces Selection, where they were tasked with enduring “the harsh reality of ocean warfare.”
A former No. 1 overall draft pick and league MVP, Newton played for the Carolina Panthers and the New England Patriots during his eleven seasons in the NFL.
He is currently the host of his own podcast, 4th&1 With Cam Newton, and an analyst on ESPN First Take. The dual-threat quarterback has translated his prenatural athletic talents to his foray into the world of media and entertainment, as evidenced by his courageous helicopter stunt.
