Cardi B has set the record straight after fans speculated about her finances following a sponsored post with Shein earlier this week.

In the post, Cardi showcased affordable faux fur coats priced under $200, but some followers were quick to question why a star—known for rocking high-end brands like Hermès and Chanel—would collaborate with Shein.

“Girl, you wear Hermès and Chanel, not Shein,” one user commented, while another joked, “This is like someone who only flies private advertising a sale on Spirit Airlines.”

Cardi took to X to shut down the noise. “People say I’m surviving off Shein deals and brand deals — wait, hold on,” she began in a voice recording shared Tuesday (Dec. 3).

“I want to let y’all know I could wake up tomorrow, sign a contract, and have half of $65 million — or half of $70 million — in my bank.”

Flexing her financial power, Cardi also revealed she spends “about $3 million in a month” and shared literal receipts. The rapper referenced a screenshot she posted in September, showing a text thread about a potential tour deal worth $65,000,000 where she would earn $1,000,000 per show.

“That was on September of this year, not old sh*t,” she clarified, emphasizing that the messages were from her “off year.”

She added that she’s holding off on any tour deals until she’s ready to announce her next album. “When I announce my album, I know they’re going to up it,” Cardi added. “You have to move smart. You can’t act hungry when you’re not.”

Despite the haters, many fans defended Cardi’s Shein partnership, pointing out her long-standing embrace of budget-friendly brands. “Y’all must’ve forgot when Cardi was rocking Fashion Nova. Let’s not act brand new,” one supporter wrote. Another added, “Cardi’s ALWAYS been about beauty on a budget. This is nothing new!”
