It appears that, after teasing a new project all 2024, Cardi B has pushed back the release of her sophomore album — again.

During an Instagram Live session on Sunday night (Nov. 17), Bardi asserted that next year she plans to release the highly-anticipated follow-up to her 2018 debut album, Invasion Of Privacy.

“I’ve been feeling so emotional lately,” she said. “Because I know next year is going to be my f**king year. This has been the most weirdest year I have ever experienced. I don’t know what the f**k happened this year, I can’t even tell you. […] I fell in love. Then fell out of love, then got a divorce.“

She continued, “I don’t know what the f**k is going on. I’m going through a very different transition in my f**king life and life is moving a little bit too fast. I don’t want to crash. I have to get my sh*t together. Next year, my album will be out, my secret businesses will be out. I can’t tell you what I’m working on. Hopefully next year I get me a little boyfriend. I’m hoe-less right now. I gotta get my sh*t together.”

While confirmation of yet another album pushback was disappointing to fans, it prompted podcaster Joe Budden to question whether or not he’ll receive an apology from a certain unnamed artist who took issue with him saying on his Joe Budden Podcast that they wouldn’t be dropping an album this year.

“Wonder if I’ll get an apology for saying _____ wasn’t dropping an album this year lol,” the New Jersey rep tweeted.

While he didn’t name names, Cardi B is likely the artist in question, as she cursed out the retired lyricist back in July after he doubted she would drop this year…or ever again.

“We’ll never get another album again. I am standing on it,” he said on the popular podcast at the time. “Cardi got something dropping with my man Rob[49] on Friday, but that’s what Cardi’s gonna be now. A single artist.”

“I’m sure Offset wants Cardi to put an album out,” he went on. “Ay, fellas out there, boyfriends, y’all know that feeling right? When you want your bi**h to get a job. You in the house and your bi**h won’t leave… Ain’t you got an album to do? Ain’t you got a single?”

Cardi took issue with Budden’s assertion, and promptly took to social media to curse out the former Slaughterhouse member.

“Bro I gave you a lap dance two times in Starlets. You was high as f**k. High as f**k on coke, ni**a… I don’t give a f**k when people talk sh*t about me,” she said. “It’s the fact you always talk sh*t about me Joe Budden. Out of nowhere, you would think I did something to this ni**a… For the past two years, this ni**a has only talked bad things about me.”

“Every five or six months you comparing another female rapper towards me, you compare new artists, old artists, every single f**king artist with me, bro,” she continued. “If you love these bi**hes so much, why are you not talking about their album? You compare females to me that my worst records beat their best records. I don’t give a f**k about none of these bi**hes.

“But you really want my album to come out so you can criticize it,” she added. “Cause every time I drop something you don’t like it. Every single time a b—h drops something and they doing mediocre, you say they doing better than me… What are you talking about? The sh*t is in motion. Merch is in motion, the box sets is in motion. You don’t know sh*t.”

In addition to pushing back on the cocaine and lap dance claims, Budden apologized and vowed to never cover Cardi’s career again on the show. Check out the JBP breakdown of the online spat below.
