Carol Vorderman wasted no time sliding into Melvin Odoom’s DMs to congratulate him after his exit from the I’m A Celebrity jungle.
The radio DJ, 44, confessed to having a crush on the former Countdown star, 63, to his fellow celebrities in the Australian jungle. During the early days in camp, the BBC star revealed his surprise celebrity crush to his fellow campmates after receiving his luxury item. Melvin chose to have a pillow with an image of Carol on it to help him through his journey down under.
Melvin, who became the fourth contestant voted off the show after 18 days, had shared during his stint that he’d love to take the TV presenter on a date. Melvin had also admitted he was too shy to approach Carol when he spotted her at the Pride of Britain Awards in October.
Melvin took to X/Twitter and Instagram to share a video, excitedly announcing, “Carol is in the DMs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” In the clip, he checks his social media for the first time in over two weeks after getting his phone back from ITV producers.
Speaking to the camera, Melvin says, “I’m about to check my DMs. I’ve spotted a message from Vorders herself. Let’s see what it says.” Sitting beside him at breakfast in their hotel, Jane Moore humorously chimes in with her guess: “Get lost, loser.”
Melvin chuckled and said, “No, no, no,” before revealing that Carol had told the person managing his social media, “‘Please give him my best. He’s done so well", alongside a heart emoji.

Twitter)Fans of I’m a Celeb were excited by the news, with one commenting on X/Twitter: “Sort a date out.” Whilst another wrote: “Awww, so happy for you!” "Go get your girl," penned a third. And a fourth quipped: "I have been living for this day!!!!"
The flirtation began when Melvin called Carol a “10 out of 10” during his time in the jungle, adding, “Check your DMs, girl, I’ll be waiting.”
While Melvin was in the jungle, Carol sent a message on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity unpacked show. Joel Dommett shared the voice note Carol sent into the show. She teased: “Melvin… or should I say jungle man, Melvin Vorderman. Right, question, have you been spying on me? Because only last night I had little Thai food..."
She continued: "Jungle man, keep doing what you are doing, you’re doing a brilliant job. see you on other side." Her message came after Melvin queried if he would take her to a Thai restaurant for a date.
Melvin's crush on Carol continued to get air time throughout his jungle experience. After he and Oti Mabuse arrived back in camp following their impressive 12 stars haul during the Tanks of Torture trial, Tulisa quipped Carol will be "proud' of Melvin's efforts.
