1 day ago 4

Liam Payne’s funeral was a sombre day for all as guests said their final goodbye to the One Direction star.

The private funeral was held in a church in the Home Counties and attended by close friends and family from across the globe.

One Direction showed a united front, with Harry, Niall, Louis and Zayn all in attendance, as well as their ex-manager Harry Magee, co-founder of Modest Management.

Although the band split in 2016, with Zayn leaving the year before, the bandmates released a joint statement after Liam’s death speaking of their joint sorrow, and all four also released individual tributes to their friend.

Cheryl Tweedy also attended the service. Her and Liam had a two year long relationship between 2016 and 2018, and they now share a son together.

Cheryl was supported by her Girls Aloud mates, Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts, who were some of the first guests to arrive.

Liam’s girlfriend when he died, Kate Cassidy, was also an early arrival. She was with him in Argentina, where he passed, but left two days before the incident.

Kate walked in accompanied by Damien Hurley, Liz Hurleys son, while she walked into the church.

Liam may not have been known widely as a West Brom super fan, but Adrian Chiles showed up and reminded the world in a Baggies coat. Ex-footballer Robbie Keane was also in attendance.
