The cousin of missing Chanel Maya Banks took to social media to release a short statement as confusion surrounds the case.
After the Gossip Girl actress' family released a plea to find the star after two weeks of silence, it was thought she had been found. However, cousin Danielle-Tori Singh explained the woman who had been found in Texas was not the Gossip Girl actress.
Now, taking to Instagram. Singh said she is waiting to share further information in the case. Taking to her Stories, she wrote: "I will comment on the most recent developments in the morning while we wait for Texas PD to release the body cam footage to the media."

Raising the alarm over on Facebook, Singh issued an urgent plea to the world: "Please don't stop looking for my cousin." In a post shared on her Facebook account this Wednesday, November 13, Danielle-Tori reacted to the news the actress had been found, alleging that TMZ - who broke the earlier on - "is reporting fake news."
Later on, in a video, she explained that she had been made aware of the Texas encounter, stating that she'd "seen the bodycam footage, heard the audio, I can positively tell you 1,000% the person in the bodycam footage" was not Chanel. The person found in Texas had, as Danielle-Tori detailed, had Chanel's "ten-year-old expired New York city driver's license with her name and date of birth."
She went on to blast TMZ for the report: "I have had zero contact with TMZ, TMZ has not reached out to me, they have not asked me or my family any questions, they were reporting fake news that Chanel had been found." She then doubled down: "my cousin has not been found, she is still missing."
TMZ had earlier reported: "Chanel has now been found safe and sound. She doesn't have any injuries and foul play isn't suspected. Authorities reportedly conducted a welfare check at the L.A. apartment Chanel shares with her husband last week where they found all her belongings as well as her dog, but no sign of the actress. Chanel's cousin Danielle-Tori Singh and mother Judy Singh flew in from the East Coast to help search for their beloved family member after they say they didn't receive any communication from her for two weeks."
The American actress, who portrayed Sawyer Bennett on the American drama, sparked concern when she vanished for two weeks, with some claiming her husband could be to blame for her disappearance. A GoFundMe page was set up by Singh in a bid to pay for a private investigator to help with the case.
