Chase Briscoe Speaks Up on Parting Ways with Key Sponsor Ahead Of JGR Move

3 hours ago 3

Chase Briscoe revealed during a Reddit Ask Me Anything (AMA) on r/NASCAR that he will be parting ways with Mahindra Tractors, his sponsor during his time with Stewart-Haas Racing. Mahindra Tractors became the anchor partner for Briscoe and the No. 14 Ford Mustang in 2022, during his second year with the team.

Briscoe delivered his first NASCAR Cup Series victory at Phoenix Raceway in only his fourth race driving the flagship No. 14 car. As his primary sponsor, Mahindra Tractors has celebrated seven top-five finishes and 13 top-10 finishes across 49 events.

Mahindra Tractors signed a 15-race contract with Briscoe in 2022 and extended its presence to 16 races in 2023 before stepping up to an 18-race contract in 2024. However, the partnership will no longer continue after Stewart-Haas Racing decided to close its NASCAR operations at the end of the 2024 Cup Series. Thus, the racer went on to sign with Joe Gibbs Racing for the 2025 season, where he will replace Martin Truex Jr. in the No. 19 Toyota Camry XSE.

When a fan asked Briscoe on Reddit, "What was the biggest difference culture-wise between SHR and JGR?" and if Mahindra Tractor was returning as a sponsor. Briscoe replied saying:

"I'd say the biggest thing is just how Coach is extremely involved in the day to day and how he's always at the shop. Currently no plans to have Mahindra on the car unfortunately."

Unfortunately for Mahindra Tractors and Briscoe, Bass Pro Shops has a multi-year contract with Joe Gibbs Racing and is slated to remain with the team as the key sponsor during the 2025 season. Thus, there remains no door open for Mahindra Tractors in Briscoe's new team.

Consequently, parting ways with Briscoe could lead to Mahindra Tractors' exit from NASCAR unless it finds another team or driver to partner with in the future.

Speaking of Joe Gibbs Racing, the team recently announced its 2025 ARCA Menards Series driver lineup, sporting four drivers, namely William Sawalich, Max Reaves, Gio Ruggiero, and Brent Crews, who will drive the team's No. 18 car in select races.

Brent Crews is emerging as a top contender this season, showcasing his impressive racing talent with two wins and six top-5 finishes in just eight national series starts in the ARCA Menards Series. Set to compete in nine Truck Series races with Tricon Garage in 2025, Crews is widely expected to secure victories this year.

The 2025 ARCA Menards Series begins on February 15 at the Daytona International Speedway and ends on October 4 at the Toledo Speedway in Ohio.
