This is WILD…
Cher Lloyd just did a bombshell interview with Paul Brunson on the We Need To Talk podcast — and this is bad, y’all. Cher hit the scene on Season 7 of The X Factor alongside One Direction. Believe it or not, the iconic boyband only took third place — and she was fourth right behind them. Following her time on the show, she got signed to record labels in both the UK and the US and launched a solo career.
Her biggest hit in The States was the catchy Want U Back which came out in 2011, but a lot went into her work behind the scenes before her success. In fact, she just revealed some pretty shocking things she was told by her record label when she was just a teenager!

The 31-year-old spilled:
“I could tell you the craziest stories of the stuff that’s been said to me, or the things that have been taken away, because I refused to go and hook up with people.”
Cher went on to say at one point, when she was promoting her album in the US, she was told by her record label she should hook up with Justin Bieber to “leech” off of his fame:
“I walked into the record label at the time, and they hadn’t given me a promotional budget to promote this album we spent millions on … But there’s no budget to get people to hear it? So I said ‘look, I really need some cash to try and push this record.’ Basically told ‘no’, but what I needed to do was hit some of the clubs, find out where Bieber is, and I should go try to get with him.”
“Get with him”?? Like, seduce him for fame? Is this real life? Because it sounds like the plot of a bad movie!
And the wildest part? She was already dating her future husband Craig Monk at the time! And he was IN THE ROOM with her! The Oath singer dished:
“[Craig] was even stood in that office while I was told they weren’t gonna spend any money on the album, pushing the album, that I was to go hook up with someone mega-famous. And basically leech off the back of someone else’s fame.”
Cher added of her feelings at the time that it wasn’t just being told to prostitute herself that made her so upset — it as the fact they didn’t believe in her enough to do it the right way:
“Was I not good enough? Was I not good enough to invest in? That you would rather use me in that way.”
So awful. She was so young…
