Liam Payne‘s loved ones gathered to pay their respects at his funeral on Wednesday, November 20, one month after his tragic passing.

Among those in attendance were all of Liam’s former One Direction bandmates — Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan.

The private service was held at St. Mary’s Church in Amersham, located northwest of London. The stone-brick church was adorned with white roses and candle holders, creating a serene atmosphere. Members of the public stood silently nearby as mourners arrived to pay their respects.

Harry was the first of the former One Direction members to be seen, accompanied by TV host and actor James Corden.

Liam’s former partner Cheryl Cole — the mother of their 7-year-old son, Bear — and girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, were also present to honor his memory.

Kate, romantically linked to Liam since 2022, had been with him in Argentina just days before his death in Buenos Aires on October 16. He tragically passed away after falling from his hotel balcony at the age of 31.

The couple, originally planning a five-day visit, extended their stay to two weeks, as mentioned in a TikTok video Kate posted two days before his death.

After Liam’s death, Kate shared multiple heartbreaking tributes on Instagram, writing in one post, “Nothing about the past few days have felt real. I ask and pray that you’ll give me the grace and space to navigate this in private.”

Simon Cowell, the music executive who formed One Direction over a decade ago, was seen tearfully embracing Liam’s parents outside the church.

Following the devastating news, One Direction members shared personal tributes alongside a collective statement expressing their sorrow.

“We are completely devastated by the death of our former bandmate, who we called our ‘brother,’” Harry, Niall, Louis, and Zayn said in a joint message on the band’s Instagram. “The memories we shared with him will be treasured forever. For now, our thoughts are with his family, his friends, and the fans who loved him alongside us. We will miss him terribly. We love you, Liam.”

Their message concluded: “In time, and when everyone is able to, there will be more to say. But for now, we will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved dearly.”
