EastEnders star Tracy-Ann Oberman, who played killer Chrissie Watts in the BBC soap, has revealed despite the fact her cousin is the The Traitors host Claudia Winkleman, she has yet to get a call to appear on the hit BBC reality show.
Although a celebrity edition of the show is on the cards it appears Tracy won't be one of the big names taking part.
During an appearance on Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid addressed the issue. "Your cousin is Claudia Winkelman, she is hosting a very Shakespearean drama at the moment, The Traitors. If there is a celebrity version would you appear?" she asked,
With no hesitiation Tracy-Ann, who recently made a return to the soap as part of the 40th anniversary celebrations, exclaimed,"yes!". However when Susanna probed further enquiring is she had been asked the answer was in the negative.
"No, sort it out. Come on Claude!" Tracy-Ann quipped. "Are you a good liar?" Susanna asked. "Well, I played Chrissie Watts for 20 years. I had to pretend my husband was dead," Tracy-Ann responded laughing.
Tray-ann has previously opened up on her connection to the Strictly Come Dancing presenter in an interview withThe Guardian.
"They (my parents) didn’t know anyone in showbiz – Claudia Winkleman is my cousin, but her side of the family were the arty ones and we were the suburban ones," she explained.
The pair have previously shared a screen when they appeared together on an episode of the BBC One quiz show, Would I Lie to You?
The celebrity edition will apaprnetly air later this year sometime after season three, which is currently airing, is finished.
Stephen Fry, who was recently made a knight in the New Year's Honours list is amongst those rumoured to be appearing.
While on Zoe Ball's Radio 2 Breakfast Show, the 67-year-old actor and author was pressed him on the subject.
During a discussion about the celebrity edition with Jessie Ware, Zoe asked, “Anyone else in the studio going on Celebrity Traitors?”
Stephen joked: “I've heard rumours that I'm in it… but I’m not allowed to comment.”
