Blocked drains in the shower can be a real nuisance, especially when water starts to fill up around your feet.
Everything from soap scum to hair can cause blockages in drains and it can be a messy job to get it cleared.
If you don’t want to call out an expensive plumber or use harsh chemicals where you bathe, there are some natural ingredients that will do the trick.
Experts from Mira Showers explained a simple method to get your drains in working order again, and it involves using two common ingredients: vinegar and baking soda.
“If left untreated, hair and soap will inevitably build up in your shower drain, and it can be tempting to try a quick fix with harsh chemicals or an expensive plumber call-out,” the experts said.
They added: “White vinegar is a known saviour for various cleaning tasks, and drain unblocking is no exception.”
To clear a blocked drain, they suggested filling up a small cup with baking soda and pouring it down the drain.
Wait a few minutes before pouring in a cup of white vinegar, and wait for the mixture to bubble.
At this stage, you should put the plug in and wait for an hour to let the mixture work its magic.

After the hour is up, pour hot - but not boiling - water down the drain.
“The vinegar and baking soda solution should loosen any hair or soap scum, and the hot water can then flush out the pipework and clear the blockage,” the experts added.
If it doesn't fix the problem, repeat the process once more.
However, the experts warned that while this is a natural method to clear drains, it is still “reasonably caustic” so don’t overdo it.
