Coleen Rooney admitted there "might have been a few tears" as she did the final school run before heading Down Under.
The 38-year-old TV personality and WAG said she was "excited" to be in Australia after touching down as the last contestant and arguably the prized ITV signing for the series which kicks off at the weekend.
Coleen said she last saw husband Wayne "yesterday morning" and his last words were "good luck". She then turned to discuss the final school run for their four children - Kai, 15, Klay, 11, Kit, 8, and Cass, six - which went smoothly.
Asked if it was emotional, She said: "It was for me not for the kids, I just done it as normal." Asked if there were tears shed, she looked emotional, and added: "There might have been, but not from the kids!"
Coleen was also asked about her gold necklace which carries the name of all her sons. She said she "had it for years and I have always wore it. If you look back at old pictures you will see it." Asked if she will be allowed to wear it in the jungle, she said: "I am not sure yet."
Although she was once labelled "the nation's favourite girl next door," Coleen took a step back from the world of showbiz in 2010 following the birth of her son, Kai, before she found herself back in the media in October 2019. She sensational claimed Rebekah Vardy's Instagram account was responsible for leaking stories to the media and was dubbed "Wagatha Christie" following a sting operation.
Thoughtful Coleen has planned everything for her children whilst she is away.
In a social media video posted on Monday she said: "Don't get me wrong. I am really anxious about leaving the kids. That's my biggest thing, and I it for weeks and months that's been on my mind, but I've come to terms with it. I've planned, I've prepped. I've got an army of people, family, friends, school friends all helping out with the kids, so they are going to be fine, and they are probably going to have a great time when I'm away."
Showing letters and little cuddly toys on the table, she added: "And then, these are to open when they come in from school a little teddy so that they know that I am constantly thinking of them."
Earlier this week Coleen said husband Wayne could be up for the jungle challenge in the future - and also wants to be the queen of the jungle after victory in the Wagatha Christie court case. The 38-year-old TV personality and WAG said: "It has been year after year I have been asked to go on a programme and it's always been a straight no.
"Over the years, there have been different things going on in my life and also, my children have been really young. But they are at an age now where I can go away for this length of time. I also feel it's time to have a challenge for me and do something different. It has taken many, many years but I’m finally doing it. And I have always said if I was going to do one – then it would be this show. I think it will be good for me.
"Wayne is supportive," she added. "He did say, 'You know you are going to be on camera 24/7?' but I said, 'Yeah that's the show!' He is fine with it all. If he had time, he'd have a go. I am not saying he would go in, but he wouldn't be completely put off.
"I haven’t spoken about it with my younger two boys as not many know, but my eldest son told me: 'Yeah go for it.' My second one was a bit more emotional. He thought about me being away for a long length of time, but hopefully that will pass. My parents are happy too that I’m doing something for me."
She added: "The most rewarding thing for me is the fact I have actually agreed to do it. It's a massive thing as I am so close to the children, I do everything for them. I am a really organised person and so to take myself away from that is going to be difficult. But I've got a very supportive family around me and I know everything is going to be fine."
