A Come Dine With Me Winner was fined £420 after hurling racist abuse at her neighbour.

Lucy Haughey, 44, won the Channel 4 programme in 2017. She was found guilty of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner which was racially aggravated. Haughey called her neighbour Roman Kavur, 25, a "foreign c***" on their shared landing in Cathcart, Glasgow, on March 8 2024.

The Come Dine With Me star, who is stated to have smelled of alcohol, also kicked her neighbour's front door. Sheriff Collette Gallagher handed her a one-year non-harassment order and the £420 fine. During the trial, it was head that she got on with her neighbour when he moved into his flat with his partner, dental nurse Valerie Zbila, and their twin babies in April 2023. Kavur said Haughey and Zbila had clashes which he didn't get involved in.

At around 6.50pm, he heard yelling near his home and went to see what was happening. He explained, according to The Sun: "I couldn't really hear what she was saying, I heard shouting from the level below us - I didn't know it was Miss Haughey at the time. I looked through the glass window on the door, and I saw Miss Haughey, and she saw me.

"She seemed intoxicated at the time and said racial abuse at me saying 'you foreign c***' or something like that." He then opened the door, which he said was a "mistake" by himself. When asked why he opened the door, he said: "To see why she said it but I don't know - she was intoxicated.

"She came a little bit close to me and I smelled alcohol so I closed the door then called the police." He then claimed Haughey started to kick his front door which damaged his letterbox. He was asked how he knew that she kicked the door and he said he "could hear the impact".

He said: "She was facing towards the door - she was either punching it or kicking it. If she was using her head, I would have seen it." He later said to the court that he "apologises if it was because the kids were crying or wake Miss Haughey up" and added that it was "something that I can't control".

Kavur said they're in the process of moving out of the flat. During the trial, Haughey - who represented herself - asked Kavur: "It was your opinion I was intoxicated when I appeared downstairs on a different level?" When Kavur said yes, she responded: "Wow, you could get a job as a sniffer dog."

Haughey also stated that the damage to his door wasn't submitted into evidence for seven months. Kavur agreed. In her evidence, Haughey claimed that the entire ordeal never happened. When she was questioned why she made the comment: "This is what happens when people come to your door" to the police on the night of the incident," she claimed it referred to an earlier matter on a different day.

She also claimed the allegations made by Kavur and Zbila were "malicious" and "lies". Haughey has other convictions and was given a three-year community payback order seven years ago after sleeping with a 15-year-old boy. She was also sentenced to community service for stalking social worker Shannon Low in 2017.

She posted a video online about Low in 2022 with abusive language and was banned from contacting her for 10 years. Haughey was also fined £515 and ordered to do 234 hours of unpaid work earlier this year for stalking a woman named Joanne Bell.
