Real Housewives of New Jersey fans are waiting to discover what will happen with the franchise. So, while RHONJ is paused, Jennifer Aydin took her tantrums to a sub shop. Unfortunately for her, she filmed her Jersey Mike excursion and posted it in her since-deleted Instagram Story. And let’s just say that Jennifer is enjoying some blowback from her insulting behavior.
What did Jennifer Aydin do at Jersey Mike’s?
Jennifer hit up the Jersey Mike’s located at Newark International Airport. And she was an absolute delight while ordering. She complained that the staff finished the woman’s order behind her first and that the service was allegedly “slow.” She also age-shamed “the 80-year-old” who was too slow slicing the bread. Then she unleashed a torrent of insults at the customer behind her. I hope that Bravo takes note of Jennifer’s most recent bout of unacceptable behavior.
Jennifer Aydin feels that Jersey Mike’s owes her an apology
Now Jennifer is giving her side of the incident. She was traveling with her husband, Dr. Bill Aydin, their five children, and some other family members. Jennifer and her cousin waited in line. “Again, it was a little slow moving, but we weren’t going to complain,” she told US Weekly. Uh-uh.
So, she let her cousin go in front of her. “I only ordered one. I only had one that my kids wanted to split,” Jennifer explained. “I’m in mom mode trying to just get my kids food.”
She continued, “They fulfilled the woman behind me’s sandwich [order] first, and I reminded the employee. I’m like, ‘Hey, did you do my Italian?’ And she was like, ‘You have to wait your turn.’ I said, ‘Oh, but you did hers before mine and I was before her.’ So, obviously she realized that [and] ignored me.” Jennifer added, “I didn’t want to make a big thing about it.” Well, that was an epic fail, then.
However, when Bill came and added another sandwich, chaos erupted. “So I said to the employee, ‘OK, sweetie, I’m going to need another mini tuna.’ She goes, ‘Oh no, you have to get to the back of the line.’ So she looks up and I guess she realized I was right and she goes, ‘Well, then the guy behind you has to say it’s OK,’” Jennifer explained.
Apparently, the gentleman behind her called it “kind of ridiculous.” She continued, “Tensions are high. I know I’m going to get blamed for something and I’m going to keep my cool,” Jennifer stressed. “The whole point of me recording – I know it backfired – was to show that I was not snapping.”
Jennifer was triggered by “aggressive behavior”
The customer behind her, who was reportedly a law professor, allegedly threatened to sue Jennifer for “all [her] fake diamonds” if she posted the video. She called out the customer’s “unwarranted, aggressive behavior.” Jennifer said, “Then, I put the camera on him.”
The RHONJ star stated, “In my angst, I was telling him because I wanted him to know that you just can’t be rude to people like that. I want you to know that in the moment, I was not rude to the Jersey Mike’s staff at all. I was trying to be polite,” she added. Did Jennifer watch her own video?
She did apologize for her comments about the Jersey Mike staff members, but also noted she “was not a celebrity in that moment” but simply an “angry mom.” That is still not acceptable.
“I realized that I should have done it in a different manner and it could have landed a little differently. And I’m learning now not to do things in the heat of the moment because I was not furious as a celebrity,” she explained. “I was a paying customer that didn’t get the sandwich for her kid.” My heart bleeds.
As for apologies? Jennifer “felt [she] was owed an apology” from the sub shop and the supposedly “rude and dismissive” customer behind her. “I will apologize for calling [the worker] an 80-year-old woman and doing all that, but that’s where it ends. They’re monetizing this, which I’m very happy for,” Jennifer said.
Real Housewives of New Jersey is streaming on Peacock.
