Former Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley has said she would never rule out returning to the soap and has been asked many times as she discussed her upcoming TV projects
Coronation Street: David delivers speech about GailCatherine Tyldesley has dropped some hints about a possible comeback to the cobbles, revealing that she's been invited back to Coronation Street more than once.
The actress, who waved goodbye to her role as Eva Price in August 2018 after seven years in Weatherfield, has not been on the show since. She has been growing a career outside of the soap. Eva left after making peace with the Connors and saying goodbye to Kate. Eva also left a note for Leanne and Toyah before leaving, and Adam surprised Eva with the news that he was going to leave with her.
Speaking about her time on the soap, she said she has been asked many times by ITV to return. She later suggested there might even be a chance of return.
She said to Prima Magazine: "Coronation Street feels like forever ago, but I always look back with such great fondness. They've asked me to go back a couple of times over the years, and it just so happened that I was busy with other projects."
She didn't shut the door on Weatherfield, adding: "But if they approached me with an amazing storyline and the time was right, of course, I'd go back. So it's always a case of never say never."
Now 41, Catherine is set to star alongside her old Corrie mate, Shayne Ward, in Channel 5's whodunit series The Good Ship Murder.
The pair, who are reuniting for the second series this month after a festive special, will be stirring up some drama on the high seas. Shayne, the former X Factor champ turned Corrie heartthrob Aidan Connor, takes on the role of detective Jack Grayling, while Catherine plays First Officer Kate Woods.
Chatting about their on-set antics, Catherine told Prima: "We're like the naughty kids at school who shouldn't be sat together! It makes life so much easier because we've got that relationship, which gives us good chemistry.", reports the Manchester Evening News.
"And he kept me sane during season one, because I'd just had a baby, and his other half had also just had a baby, and so we kind of propped each other up emotionally while we were both missing the kids. He's seen me cry a million times. So I thought, 'It's fine, I can be a hormonal mess around Shayne'."
