From playing Ben Richardson in Coronation Street, Lucien Laviscount's career has gone into the stratosphere and he revealed he is starring in a number of upcoming movies
Lucien Laviscount admits he owes his success to Corrie.
The lad shot to fame playing Ben Richardson on the soap in 2009. Since then he’s gone to become a global star on shows including Scream Queens and Emily In Paris.
Burnley-born Lucien told the Daily Star: “I love Corrie. It was part of my journey. Soaps are institutions. They have been going for so long. You get to work with guys who go in every day and knock it out consistently. That was my drama school.
“You’re always learning. That’s the best thing about acting. You take things from friends, people you see in the street, things you watch on TV.”
Lucien is on a career high at the moment. The star has a string of big projects in the pipeline.
He said: “I’ve got four or five movies coming out over the next couple of years. They are roles that are a little bit different to what people are used to seeing me do. I’m excited for people to see them.
“And I’d love to do the West End when the time was right and the right project presented itself. That would be amazing.”
Lucien plays the dashing Alfie Peterson on Emily in Paris. In August last year, he revealed he was initially only supposed to appear in a couple of episodes.
Alfie burst onto the scene in a French class during the show's second season, where he and Emily (played by Lily Collins) started as reluctant study buddies.
However, as the storyline developed, Alfie and Emily's chemistry ignited, leading to a blossoming romance. Despite plans for Alfie to return to London, fate had other ideas, and he remained in the romantic hub of Paris.
The end of season three left fans reeling as Alfie was left devastated. Camille (Camille Razat) dropped a bombshell at her surprise wedding to Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), confessing that she and Emily had vowed not to pursue Gabriel again - a promise Camille obviously didn't keep.
Chatting with Jordan North, Kemi Rodgers, and Chris Stark, he hinted at the future of Alfie's relationship with Emily in an interview on Capital Breakfast.
"I'd say that coming off the back of season three, it definitely ends on, I'd say, a cliffhanger as to what's going to happen next," he said.
"It's a little bit chaotic, it's a little bit of a rollercoaster, first half of the season, for Alfie figuring out what's what... A little bit heartbreaking. Yeah, a little bit heartbreaking, to be honest."
