Forum Members Review the Debut Lanvin Fall 2025 Collection From Peter Copping

16 hours ago 6

Ever since the powers that be at Lanvin HQ appointed Peter Copping as creative director, we’ve been sat in suspense for his inaugural collection. The British designer was named creative director of the Fosun-owned Paris-based fashion label (founded by Jeanne Lanvin in 1889) back in June. Upon joining Lanvin, Copping served as the head of haute couture at Balenciaga (prior to stints at Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton). Tonight, on the eve of Haute Couture Paris Fashion Week, Copping staged his long-awaited debut coed Lanvin collection for Fall 2025. At Pavillon Gabriel, Copping paid homage to founder Jeanne Lanvin, infusing her signature blue throughout a sophisticated lineup. The collection boasted gowns worthy of international red carpets, and chic and elevated wardrobe essentials. The show also contained Copping’s first-ever menswear designs.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“A pretty solid debut, phenomenal casting. I didn’t mind that it was coed, I’m an absolute sucker for all the outerwear! Have my eye on that wide lapel as well as the mustard yellow coat. [justpassingthrough]

“Very exciting debut!” [thiago]

“I didn’t expect his collection to be that serious! For some reasons, his work at Nina Ricci and Louis Vuitton always looked light and fresh. But this is a very good debut. The Asian clientele will eat this up because that’s the kind of sophistication you see when you go from Beijing to Seoul. Personally, I love the sequined dress and the accessories! Those shoes!” [Lola701]

“A little bit unnecessary if you ask me. Some cute and chic pieces here and there, but trying to revamp a brand with such a discreet and normal offering is kind of… daring. It’s not bad at all, but quite meh. There is no emotion and nothing too special. I would’ve liked something more colorful and ladylike.” [Creative]

“Didn’t move me at all but it’s a fair debut. Feels a bit dated, and the menswear is very poor.” [Thefrenchy]

“It’s not bad; some good looks, some bad, but as a whole it’s rather underwhelming and very forgettable.” [avonlea002]

“There’s a lot going on, but those last few looks… Chef’s Kiss!” [fenty]
