Dave Portnoy Slams Zach Bryan In New Song ‘Country Diddy’: Lyric Breakdown

1 week ago 2

Dave Portnoy is proving himself the ultimate BFF. The Barstool Sports CEO has released another diss track aimed at Zach Bryan, following Zach’s recent messy breakup with Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia. The track, titled “Country Diddy,” dropped on YouTube on Sunday, November 10, as a follow-up to the original diss track by Dave and Josh Richards, “Smallest Man.”

The music video for “Country Diddy” features a Lego cowboy character holding a guitar and a piece of paper labeled “NDA,” referencing Brianna’s claim that Zach allegedly offered her money to sign a non-disclosure agreement, which she reportedly declined.

The track opens with the lines, “Country Diddy, Country Diddy / Steal another story write another Country Ditty / All these NDAs you sound like a country Diddy,” seemingly referencing Sean “Diddy” Combs, who was recently incarcerated following an indictment on racketeering and sex trafficking charges in September.

“Country Diddy” goes on with lines like, “Something like your face / This isn’t looking pretty / Know I bring the thunder straight to Oklahoma City,” and adds, “Butter cup really thought that he could shut me up / Someone tell your cheap lawyers I don’t give a f—.”

One pointed lyric reads, “Offered Bri $13 mil, just to shut her trap / Then she turned around and said ‘shove it up you a—.'”

Meanwhile, “Smallest Man,” which has now been removed from all platforms, also throws shade with lines like “lyin’ Zach Bryan,” referencing the country singer’s own songs with lyrics such as, “Pretty soon you going to need a revival,” a nod to his song, “Revival.”

Throughout the track, the hosts address several of Zach’s recent controversies, including his infamous drunken Instagram post proclaiming Kanye West as superior to Taylor Swift. Dave, a self-proclaimed Swiftie, calls out Zach, rapping, “Think you’re on some s—t tryna diss Taylor Swift, did a hundo ‘gram stories apologizing like a bitch.”

The diss track wraps up with a nod to Zach’s song “28,” which reflects on his past relationship with Brianna. “How lucky is Bri to be free of ZB,” Dave and Josh sing, reworking the original lyrics.

Brianna, currently taking a social media break, is set to return to the “BFFs” podcast on Thursday, November 7, after stepping away following her breakup with Zach.

ICYMI, Zach confirmed his and Brianna’s breakup on his Instagram Stories on October 22, over a year after they began dating in June 2023. In response, Brianna shared her own statement and a YouTube video, expressing that she felt “blindsided” by the post.

“I’m probably not gonna post this for a little while, but I just woke up to Zach posting on his Instagram that we broke up and I had no idea that post was going up,” she said in the video from her bathroom floor. “He didn’t text me, he didn’t call me.”
