Simon Fuller, the mastermind behind the Spice Girls and the man who catapulted David Beckham to international fame, has hailed the football legend as "is the most patriotic guy there is" and fully deserving of a knighthood. Beckham's desire for this prestigious accolade is no secret.
In 2017, leaked emails allegedly showed him lashing out at the honours committee, calling them "unappreciative c***s" and expressing his frustration by saying he "didn't care about being knighted."
The emails, which Beckham vehemently denies as fakes, include a tirade which reads: "I expected nothing less. It's a disgrace to be honest and if I was American I would of got something like this 10 years ago."

A representative for Beckham responded, asserting: "This story is based on outdated material taken out of context from hacked and doctored private emails from a third party server and gives a deliberately inaccurate picture," reports the Express.
Questions surrounding Beckham's complex tax arrangements have been put forward as a potential barrier to further honours.

Entertainment mogul Fuller, the brain behind Pop Idol and mentor to stars like Amy Winehouse, Lewis Hamilton and Andy Murray, reckons that David Beckham deserves a knighthood.
Speaking to The Sunday Times, he stressed Beckham's patriotism: "David is so patriotic," and shared his belief on the football legend's aspirations, "He is the most patriotic guy there is. Getting a knighthood would be the greatest honour to him, so I'm sure he does want that. It's not a modern thing to care about, but he cares about it."
