David Moscow’s travel and culinary show From Scratch is getting another season.
The show, hosted by actor and adventurer Moscow, is set to return to the Tastemade streaming channel in April with new episodes that explore locations around the world, from Sweden to Kansas City, Missouri. It gives viewers “an inside look into the planet’s complex and interconnected food supply, how it is sourced, who is involved in the process and why it matters.”
The show finds Moscow — who is also known for his roles as the young version of Tom Hanks’ Big character and as Davey in Newsies — presented with a meal that he learns to source from scratch. He works with local food producers to harvest, hunt, fish, forage and grow each ingredient in the recipe and brings those back to the chef, with whom he works to re-create the original dish.
This season will feature world-renowned chefs, including two-time Michelin star-winning chef Douglas Keane; Top Chef Masters finalist and James Beard Award-winner Jennifer Jasinski; and Eric Vildgaard of the three-time Michelin star-winning restaurant Jordnær.
In each episode, Moscow takes a close look at the area’s history and experiences firsthand what food producers are up against and explores each region’s natural beauty.
The series will also air on the Tastemade Travel streaming channel later in the spring. All previous seasons of From Scratch are available on the Tastemade streaming channel.
Tastemade is can be accessed anywhere you stream TV for free. From Scratch is available to watch ad-free and on-demand with a Tastemade+ subscription in the Tastemade app.
Additional details on the fifth season of From Scratch will be released in the new year.
From Scratch is executive produced by Moscow, with Karen Moscow serving as showrunner/EP and Jason Dreyer as EP. Andy Rath is co-EP, and producers are Jon Moscow, Angela Del Rosario, Suzann Toni, Yari Beekowitz, David Berkowitz and JJ Liongson. The show is from Indie Village, with Daniel Boularte and Principal Media handling worldwide sales and Bala Firm’s Andrew Randone serving as attorney.
