Fancy a comfort food fix that's easy to rustle up and tastes just like your fast-food fave? This Big Mac pasta recipe is the perfect weeknight treat for foodies. It's a savvy take on the iconic McDonald's classic, created by Heck with simple steps to follow.

The dish has a quick prep time of 10 minutes and cooks in 45 minutes, ideal for when those burger cravings but if you want to keep it homemade.

According to Heck's website, "Flavour-packed burger pasta - created with fusilli and served alongside tomatoes and Heck Italia Burger pieces in a creamy Big Mac sauce, topped with melty cheese. Perfect both hot and cold."

With it serving two, this Big Mac pasta dish is great for dining with your other half or a mate – or even better, save some for a scrummy leftover lunch, reports the Express.

How to make Big Mac pasta recipe:

Ingredients:

  • Two burgers
  • A little oil to fry
  • 150g fusilli pasta, cooked
  • 100g cherry tomatoes

For the croutons:

  • Two burger buns, cut into cubes
  • A drizzle of olive oil
  • One tsp mixed dried herbs (parsley, basil, oregano)
  • 1⁄2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste

For the Big Mac sauce:

  • Half cup mayonnaise
  • One tsp yellow mustard
  • One tbsp pickle juice
  • One tsp apple cider vinegar
  • One-eighth tsp salt
  • Half tsp paprika
  • Half tsp garlic powder
  • Half tsp onion powder

The dish is pretty simple to prepare and cook

Method:

Get going by cooking your pasta as per packet instructions and sizzle those Heck burgers in a dash of oil until they're perfectly bronzed.

Next, break the bread buns into chunky bite-sized pieces. For the crunchy croutons, give the bun cubes a good old mix in olive oil, ensuring they're well-dressed with herbs, garlic powder, and seasoning before popping them into the oven at 160C.

They'll need a quick flip after about seven or eight minutes and are done in 10-15 mins total. Whip up the delectable Big Mac sauce by stirring together all the listed ingredients.

Preheat your oven to 190C while you lovingly coat the cooked pasta in the sauce, blend in those juicy tomatoes, croutons, and burger chunks. Finally, lavish with a generous helping of cheese and bake at 190C for a melt-in-your-mouth 12-15 minutes.
