Alexandra Daddario as Ronan Fielding struggles to understand the demon she gave birth to — and ultimately has to protect her family against — as tragedy strikes in the second season trailer for Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches, which dropped on Halloween.
“Lasher’s out there hunting Mayfair women,” Fielding warns of the sinister character played by Jack Huston. “I’m going to take care of it,” she adds in the teaser for the AMC and AMC+ series that returns Jan. 5, 2025.
Fielding had used Lasher, who ages over the course of the trailer, to fulfill her purpose as a healer in the AMC+ drama based on Anne Rice’s novel trilogy about an intuitive young neurosurgeon (Daddario) who discovers she is the heir to a family of witches.
But having discovered Lasher is a monster, Fielding must put aside her own desires and fight off a sinister presence that has haunted her family for generations. “This is how it starts. This is where he wants us,” she defiantly declares in a trailer that foreshadows vampires and witches and spells and explosions.
Season two of Mayfair Witches also stars Ben Feldman, Ted Levine and Thora Birch. The supernatural fantasy series is executive produced by Mark Johnson, showrunner Esta Spalding, Tom Williams, Michelle Ashford, Christopher Rice and the late Anne Rice, and is produced by AMC Studios.
Mayfair Witches is part of the Anne Rice universe at AMC Networks, which acquired the rights to a number of the author’s works in a 2020 deal. AMC also produced the Interview With the Vampire drama based on Rice’s Vampire Chronicles books, and a third series in the franchise, Anne Rice’s The Talamasca, is in the works.
