Destiny 2 Scout Rifle is Heresy’s unlikeliest master of add-clear

Scout Rifles aren’t usually a weapon type associated with add-clear in Destiny 2 but Episode Heresy has turned that perception on its head by delivering one of the best to date.

Found exclusively in the Sundered Doctrine dungeon, Unworthy joins the underrepresented family of Rapid-Fire Frames as a monstrous add-clear tool when rolled with a wild perk combo not available anywhere else in the sandbox.

No doubt benefitting from the Scout Rifle buffs deployed in Patch 8.2.0 – a whopping 15% and 30% damage increase against minors and majors respectively – Unworthy, contrary to its name, has swiftly become Sundered Doctrine’s most sought-after Legendary weapon, and this is the roll you’ll want to be on the hunt for.

• Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
• Magazine: Ricochet Rounds
• Perk 1: Firefly
• Perk 2: Voltshot
• Masterwork: Reload Speed

Unworthy is currently the only weapon that can roll Firefly and Voltshot together.

As mentioned, what singles Unworthy out as an exceptional add-clear tool is its ability to roll Firefly and Voltshot in the first and second perk columns respectively.

Even in a vacuum, both are considered viable build-around perks. Having access to both on a single weapon is huge not just for Arc and Solar builds, but it’s also a direct buff to Prismatic and new perks such as Elemental Honing, both of which benefit massively from the user inflicting multiple different types of elemental damage.

Voltshot, in particular, which procs on reloading after a kill, is right at home on Rapid-Fire Frames, which boast in-built faster reloads after emptying a magazine. You can augment this further with a reload speed Masterwork, and it’s what we’d recommend, but Range or Handling works well too.

Likewise, Arrowhead Brake and Ricochet Rounds shore up Unworthy’s lower Stability and Range and are nice to have, but these aren’t mandatory by any means. Even without these, Unworthy is easy enough to control, so don’t stress about getting the perfect 5/5 roll.
