Did ‘Phil of the Future’ Costars Aly Michalka and Raviv ‘Ricky’ Ullman Date?

Aly Michalka is finally clearing up those rumors about her dating her Phil of the Future costar, Raviv “Ricky” Ullman —and nope, it didn’t happen.

While appearing on “Call Her Daddy” in January 2025, alongside her sister and fellow Disney star AJ Michalka, host Alex Cooper went straight for the tea and asked if the two had ever dated. Aly shut it down quick: they didn’t.

“I literally can attest. [They] never even kissed,” AJ chimed in to back her up.

Aly explained why, pointing out their three-year age gap. “That age range felt huge. I was 13 and I think he was 16. I think that’s huge,” she said.

But Aly did drop a little throwback confession. “I remember during the test, like when I tested for Phil of the Future and I saw that he was the other boy that was up for it, I was like, ‘He’s really cute.’ And then of course you meet them and you’re like, ‘Oh, now we’re just buddies.’”

In case you need a refresher, Phil of the Future ran for about two years from 2004 to 2006, and starred Raviv, Aly, Amy Bruckner, Craig Anton, Lise Simms, J.P. Manoux, Kay Panabaker, Brandon Mychal Smith, Brenda Song and so much more! In case you forgot, in the show, the Diffy family lived in the year 2121. But when their time machine malfunctioned and they were thrown into the year 2004, they were forced to try to fit in and live like a normal family.

So, will there ever be a reboot? Aly gave fans some hope in a 2017 interview with Elle. “I’m really good friends with one of the producers who directed and wrote a lot of the episodes; I’ve been close to him since I was fourteen. Raviv and I keep in touch; we’re Instagram buddies. Whenever I’m in New York or he’s in L.A., we try to see each other and get lunch,” she shared.

And about a reboot? “I wouldn’t be opposed to it. It’s a funny idea. I have no idea what they’d do with the storyline, but yeah, sure,” Aly said.

Raviv even weighed in on where Phil might be now: “If he’s still stuck here now in 2022, I would just hope that he’s become some kind of climate warrior. I never thought of Phil as a superhero, but I’d like to think that he’d be working with Keely at his side saving the planet.”
