Paradise official trailer

Disney+ is preparing to launch a new series that has all the ingredients to be the streamer’s next big hit. Launching later this month, Paradise is a gripping conspiracy thriller centred around a plot to murder the president.

Its recently released trailer teases plenty of twists and turns as the show’s lead character becomes embroiled in the conspiracy. The eight-part series comes from creator and executive producer Dan Fogelman, the mind behind hit, award-winning shows Only Murders in the Building and This is Us.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly in December, Fogelman said: “It’s edge-of-your-seat [viewing] with a lot of plot and twists and turns. I like television that makes you pay attention and that will surprise you. My dream for this show would be that it can occupy a portion of a space that doesn’t really exist anymore – that water cooler thing.”

Here, we’ve broken down everything you need to know about Paradise.

What is Paradise about?

As per the official synopsis, Paradise takes place in a serene, upscale community inhabited by some of the world’s most prominent individuals. This tranquillity explodes when a shocking murder occurs and a high stakes investigation unfolds.

As revealed in the series trailer, secret service agent Xavier is the last person to see the president alive after being shown classified and top secret national security information. The footage shows Xavier – once the president’s most trusted agent – taking a polygraph test as he becomes a suspect in the murder.
