After her historic Best Rap Album win at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, Doechii dropped a surprise single for her loyal fanbase.
On Sunday night (February 2), the Top Dawg Entertainment artist concluded her Grammy-winning night by dropping her new track "Nosebleeds." The song follows Doechii's 2024 mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal, which won the rapper Best Rap Album, and earned her nominations for Best New Artist and Best Rap Performance ("Nissan Altima").
On the grungy Jonas Jeberg-produced single, Doechii predicted her Grammy win, rapping, "Stepped out the swamp to the motherfuckin' stage/ Cut my mic off 'cause I'm 'bout to misbehave/ "Will she ever lose?" Man, I guess we'll never know."
In the interlude portion of "Nosebleeds," Doechii even gives a thanks to her TDE crew, including SZA, Isaiah Rashad, and label executive Anthony "Moosa" Tiffith Jr.
In her Best Rap Album acceptance speech, the Tampa, Florida native also thanked her mother, Celesia Moore, engineer Jada Love and also dedicated the award to young Black women.
"I know that there is some Black girl out there, so many Black women out there that are watching me right now and I want to tell you that you can do it," the 26-year-old said.
"Anything is possible," she continued. "Don’t allow anybody to project any stereotypes on you, that tell you [that] you can’t be here, that you’re too dark, or that you’re not smart enough or too dramatic or too loud. You are exactly who you need to be."
