Initial reports indicated that Walker looked to be in a ton of pain. Miami Herald Dolphins columnist Omar Kelly revealed that Walker looked as though he was crying before limping to the locker room.
Walker was down on the field after a play and was very slow to get up. Following the injury, he was immediately taken to the locker room.
The Dolphins updated his status, stating he is questionable to return with a hamstring injury.
The good news is that Walker was revealed to have suffered a hamstring injury, and Kelly believed that it was his knee. Despite the designation that it was a hamstring injury, Walker appeared to be in tons of pain. Regardless of what body part has been affected, the Dolphins linebacker did not look good.
The Dolphins just acquired Tyrel Dodson off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks, and Dodson has now come into the game to replace Walker. Dodson started all his first nine games with the Seahawks and had 71 tackles through those games.
Dodson had a total of 74 tackles in 2023. The hope is that he can emerge as a viable defensive threat for the Dolphins. Now, he will get that chance even more as he has replaced Walker.
The Dolphins are currently 4-6 on the season and are riding a two-game win streak. They are facing the New England Patriots and are hoping to net their third consecutive win and a 5-6 record.
The Dolphins struggled mightily without Tua Tagovailoa, who missed four games due to a concussion. After serving his stint on IR, Tagovailoa returned to provide the much-needed boost for Miami.
Since Tagovailoa returned, the Dolphins have looked like a far different team. They are offensively sound once again, and even the defense has shaken off its struggles. Anthony Weaver is the Dolphins' first-year defensive coordinator and has emerged as a solid coach.
The Dolphins currently have a top-10 defense through the first 12 games of the season, and the unit is starting to look more solid every week. However, losing Walker for any significant time is going to hurt the team's pass rush.
Walker has 46 total tackles and one interception so far. Now, the Dolphins will have to await what kind of injury he sustained.
